My Cambridge Satchel

I'm not sure where I first came across Cambridge satchels, but the idea of a traditional-looking satchel in lovely bright colours immediately grabbed me. When my Mum kindly gave me some money for Christmas I decided to buy one. I went for the 13 inch size as I want it to be an everyday bag that can carry my usual bits and pieces, and have space for a book or my filofax as well.

I also bought this necklace which was hugely reduced in the sale (originally £88!!), so feel I got quite a bit for my money. I'd never heard of Pascale Monvoisin before, but it's a lovely classy and grown-up necklace which is very light to wear. Thanks, Mum!

  2. Great video. Lovely bag, even from a guys point of view.

The should consider making matching leather organisers!

The buckles are lovely, it would discourage pickpockets from being able to get in to the bag easily.

What Filo are you currently using? A Purple Malden or Finchley would be a nice match!

You might not want to put your business card in the outside card slot to stop the odd 'stalker' seeing your contact details when you travel around.

    1. Thanks, Steve. I wasn't sure how it would turn out with being my first one, but I'm very pleased with it.
They are great & do them in more 'manly' colours! I agree about the buckles for the same reason & not putting my business card in the card slot.
I'm using my crimson Malden, which doesn't really match but like I replied to Imy am trying to resist the goodness that will be Malden & purple together...

    1. Thought you would like it & it looks more purple in real life. Slightly cheaper than your bag though as it was £84 including postage! I do like your purple Finchley.
Thanks about my accent :) It got very posh at prep school & then got toned down when I went to a comprehensive school after that!

  7. Hi there, is it possible to show us a picture of you carrying the satchel as a reference? Am deciding between the 11" and the 13" and it would be of great help :)

    1. Hi, thanks for your comment.
Yes, of course I will :) I found it hard initially deciding on the size, but it seems that the 11" is more for when you only need a minimal amount of stuff. This one carries a surprising amount for its size.

Have you looked at the company's size guide?
